Drs. Wong & Partners Dental Surgeons ("we", "us"), part of the Smile Link Healthcare group, respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia. It applies to this website and to personal data collected at our clinics.

1. Personal data we collect

Contact and identity details: name, identity card or passport number, date of birth, address, phone number and email.
Appointment details: preferred clinic, date and treatment, and messages you send us by phone, WhatsApp, email or through this website.
Health information (sensitive personal data): dental and medical history, X-rays, photographs, treatment records and insurance or panel details, collected at our clinics with your explicit consent.
Payment information needed to process fees and claims.
Website data: this website does not currently set advertising or analytics cookies. If analytics are introduced, this policy and a cookie notice will be updated.

2. How we use personal data

To provide dental care, keep clinical records and communicate with you about appointments, treatment and aftercare.
To process payments, insurance claims and corporate panel arrangements.
To respond to enquiries, feedback and complaints.
To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including those of the Malaysian Dental Council and the Ministry of Health.
To send information about our services where you have agreed to receive it. You may opt out at any time.

3. Disclosure of personal data

We may share personal data, only as necessary, with: other clinics and companies within our group so that you can be treated at any of our locations; dental laboratories, specialists and hospitals involved in your care; insurers and corporate panel administrators where you have asked us to claim on your behalf; IT and payment service providers bound by confidentiality; and regulators, courts or law enforcement where required by law. We do not sell personal data.

4. Consent for sensitive personal data

Health information is sensitive personal data under the PDPA. We collect and use it with your explicit consent, given when you register at a clinic, and otherwise only where the law allows, for example to protect your vital interests in an emergency.

5. Retention

Clinical records are kept for as long as required by Malaysian law and professional guidelines, and for as long as needed to support your ongoing care. Other personal data is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, after which it is securely destroyed.

6. Security

We use physical, technical and administrative safeguards, including access controls and staff confidentiality obligations, to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

7. Your rights

You have the right to request access to and correction of your personal data, to withdraw consent to its processing (subject to legal and contractual restrictions), and to limit the processing of your data for direct marketing. Requests may be made in writing to the contact below. We may need to verify your identity and, where permitted by the PDPA, charge a reasonable fee for access requests.

8. Third-party links

This website links to external sites such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Waze. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date of the last update.
